Founded in 1975, this center—the largest marine mammal facility in the world—rescues injured or sick animals from sites stretching along the West Coast and nurses them back to health. Come for a tour to learn how the hospital rescues, rehabilitates, and releases hundreds of dolphins, sea lions, and otters each year, and see these animals during the recovery process. Note that winter is usually the quietest time of year, sometimes with one or two animals on site, whereas spring is the busiest. (Daily 10 am-4 pm, closed Jan 1, Thanksgiving, Dec 25) (Show Less)
